What is Stoke CON Trent?

Stoke CON Trent is Staffordshire’s Biggest TV, Film, Comic and Memorabilia Convention.

What Happens There?

Many people come to Stoke CON Trent for a variety of reasons. It could be to meet the fantastic line up of guests we have, have a quick chat with them while they sign their autograph for you.

Others to see the attractions, examples at previous events have included various Doctor Who, Terminator, Gerry Anderson and Star Wars Props. We usually have a selection of Classic Cars including replicas of The Back to the Future Delorean, KITT , Del Boy’s Reliant Robin and Capri, A Star Wars X-Wing, The Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, Starsky & Hutch’s Ford Gran Tourino  and the A-Team Van.

Cosplay –  a high percentage of visitors come to Stoke CON Trent dressed as their heroes from TV & Film. Most enter the wonderful Cosplay Competition.

Lots of people visit the various comic traders, artists and exhibitors, the event is the biggest specialist traders congregation of all things comic book, television and film held in Staffordshire on a bi-annual basis.

What times does the event start and close?

Stoke CON Trent opens it’s doors at 10am and will run until 4pm.

Adults ticket is for anyone age 17 or over.

Concessions ticket is for anyone over the age of 60 or disabled. (Carers tickets are available via arrangement. Email info@stokecontrent.co.uk if you feel you may be entitled to one).

N.B. these are sold  subject to relevant ID being shown on the day and if non provided then people may be asked to pay the full adult price.

Kids ticket is for anyone aged 5 to 16 years old. Under 5’s do not require a ticket and will be allowed free entry.

Family tickets are available too, these comprise of Two Adults and Two Kids.

Can I purchase tickets on the door?

All Previous events have SOLD OUT in advance.

It is very doubtful that there may be tickets available to purchase on the day.

We only have a limited number of tickets available so to be guaranteed entry we suggest you buy in advance online or at stores we will announce as approved vendors to avoid disappointment.

Please note that if we reach maximum capacity on the day then those who have not bought tickets in advance will only allowed entry on a ‘one in one out’ basis.

How will I get my ticket?

Online Purchases – We will email you a link with a unique code that you can exchange for a wristband on the day of the event. Alternatively you can select the option to have your ticket sent to you in advance of the event. We expect to send these no later than a month before the event.

In Store Purchases – You will purchase a wristband from the approved vendor that will allow you access to the event and provide you with access to all areas throughout the day including access to celebrity attractions, question and answer sessions and exhibitors.

What does my ticket include?

Your ticket provides you with access to all areas throughout the day including access to celebrity attractions, question and answer sessions and exhibitors.There are also complimentary attractions available outside the venue.

All guests will attend subject to commitments, published guest signing times may vary. While we make every effort is made to ensure that advertisements are correct at the time of print/display.

If guests do have to cancel then we are unable to refund entry tickets, it’s the nature of the event.

Is Stoke Con Trent suitable for all ages?

Stoke Con Trent is a family event which has attractions to suit all ages. There are no age restrictions for entering the venue, however parents should be aware that some attractions may not be suitable for very young children and that all young children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Will I be photographed?

There will be ongoing filming throughout the day for promotional purposes, therefore by entering the event you are agreeing to be filmed and/or photographed. Please note your image may be used for promotional purposes on our website or social media sites.

Is photography allowed at the event?

With the exception of those exhibits which may charge for photographs with the attractions you can take as many photos of the event as you wish. Although please be aware that some fellow comic con goers or exhibitors may not want you to take their photograph so please ask first, no photos or videos may be taken for the purpose of financial gain.

Is there a cloakroom or bag storage at the venue?

Unfortunately no, we cannot store bags or coats at the event and we advise you to keep your belongings with you at all times.

Can I re-enter the show if I leave?

Yes guests are allowed to return to the venue as many times as they wish throughout the day, please keep your wristband on if you intend to return to the venue, we cannot allow re-entry with broken wristbands.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Yes there is lots of parking available in close proximity to the event including disabled parking.

How do I pay for things at the event?
Not all vendors will accept credit card payments so if you wish to purchase an item from one of the exhibitors on the day we recommend you bring cash with you.

Is there disabled access in your venue?
Yes, the majority of the event is located on the ground floor, any attractions located on the first floor can be easily accessed by a lift. There are also disabled parking and toilet facilities available. If you have any questions about visiting the event please get in touch via our Contact page. Please note that the venue may get crowded at peak times, if you have any concerns on the day please ask a member of staff.

What do I do if I have lost my ticket?

We cannot be responsible for lost tickets or wristbands and will not be replaced. You may be required to purchase a new ticket.

I have ordered my ticket but it hasn’t arrived, what do I do?

Will there be food at the event?

There will be food available to purchase on the day, only food purchased at the venue may be consumed at the event.

Will there be a programme available on the day/ can I advertise my business in it?

There will be a programme/ or lanyard available to purchase on the day, for any advertising enquiries get in touch via our contact page as soon as possible.

Celebrity Information-

All guests are SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY as paid work and filming may take priority.

Each guest charges for their autograph and it may differ in price from guest to guest.

Some guests have lots of different items to sign and sell so we can’t publish a price list unfortunately.

Will guests be available for the whole event?

Please listen to announcements throughout the day for any updates or amendments to the guest’s schedules. Please be aware that not all guests may be available for the duration of the event, if we are aware of any changes in the schedule we will try to release this information on our website before the event so that you may plan accordingly.

Will celebrities sign autographs?

The celebrity guests will sign autographs throughout the day, there are no designated signing hours. The guests will charge a fee for their signature.

Can I have pictures with celebrities?

Guests may agree to have their photograph taken with you, this is entirely dependent of the guest so please ask. There may also be a charge for this. Throughout the day there will be photo sessions with selected guests, details of the schedule will be available on the website in the week leading up to the event.

Will the celebrity guests have their own items to sign, or do I have to bring things for them? 

If you have a memorabilia item you would like a guest to sign please bring it along to the event but we cannot guarantee that all guests will sign your item. Guests will also have photos at the event which they can sign for you.

Cosplay Information-

Are there costume rules or guidelines?

We encourage you to be as creative as possible with your costumes, however as the event is open to all ages your costume must also be appropriate for all ages.

No real or functioning weaponry is allowed (including guns, projectile weapons, swords or other blades) and no part of your costume should be harmful to either yourself or others around you, props only please.

All costume weapons are subject to inspection by security, if you are found to be in violation of these rules you will not be allowed entry and a ticket refund will not be given.

Other Information-

Can I volunteer at your event/ what voluntary opportunities are available?

If you are interested in volunteering at Stoke Con Trent you must be 16+ and available on the day of the event, previous experience is not essential. Get in touch via the contact page and tell us about yourself, what work experience you have and what role you might like to be considered for.
